BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek teen has died after being thrown from a vehicle during a crash on Friday.
Calhoun County deputies were called to the 400 block of Avenue A around 9:13 a.m. and found that the 18-year-old victim had been riding in a 2004 Jeep Liberty driven by a 44-year-old woman.
The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control, striking several objects before hitting the back of a semi-truck.
The teen was taken to Bronson Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Police say the woman driving suffered minor injuries.
Investigators believe a black Dodge Charger might have been involved in the crash, and are asking for help identifying the driver.
They ask anyone with information to contact the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office at 269-969-6450 or Silent Observer.
