LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The Michigan Department of Transportation has named Mark Van Port Fleet as its new Deputy Director and Chief Operations Officer. The 36-year veteran of the department replaces Gregory Johnson, who leaves next month to become Maryland’s state highway administrator. Van Port Fleet has spent the past six years as deputy chief engineer and director of MDOT’s Bureau of Development, including implementing a Context Sensitive Solutions program involving road project planning.
