LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Michigan Supreme Court Justice Mary Beth Kelly is stepping down from the bench, effective October 1st, to join a private law firm in Detroit. She was first elected to the High Court in 2010, and was reelected last November to a second four-year term. Kelly served as the Supreme Court’s liaison for local treatment courts, drug courts, and veterans’ courts. Governor Snyder will appoint a replacement who will have to run for election in November of 2016 to fully complete the remainder of Kelly’s term.
