GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – The widow of slain Walker Police Officer Trevor Slot has died. Kim Slot had been battling cancer when she succumbed overnight in her sleep. The 43-year-old Grand Rapids woman had told her husband about the spreading of her disease in a cell phone call moments before he was struck and killed laying down stop sticks on the exit ramp from westbound I-96 to 8th Avenue near Marne by the vehicle of two fleeing bank robbers nearly four years ago. Kim Slot was a Northview schools teacher.
