KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Over 47,000 Consumers Energy customers in west Michigan are without power this morning after tornadoes and severe storms hit the area overnight.
Tornado warnings were issued for Allegan, Barry, Branch, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, and Ottawa counties.
Severe thunderstorm warnings were in place as well for all of west Michigan overnight.
National Weather Service crews will be examining the damage today to determine if any tornadoes touched down, and how strong they were.
