LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Numbers released by the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning showed 351 arrests of allegedly drunken drivers were made during the extended Labor Day/End of Summer crackdown by state police troopers and local law enforcement officers. The extra road surveillance statewide also resulted in 152 drug arrests and 41 felony apprehensions, and in addition, more than 26 hundred seat belt and child restraint tickets were issued. Preliminary reports showed that there were 13 traffic fatalities during the Labor Day holiday period in Michigan.
