KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Tuesday is an election day, but unless you live in the Mattawan, Plainwell, or Mendon school districts, you don’t have to worry about voting.
Those districts all have major bond issues on the ballot. Mattawan schools is seeking voter approval of a $92-million bond issue to improve schools, transportation operations and athletic facilities and upgrade equipment.
Plainwell Schools has a $42-million general obligation bond issue on the ballot to build a new early childhood center, and make building and equipment upgrades throughout the district.
Mendon schools are asking voters to okay the sale of just over $20 million in bonds to fund a new bus maintenance building and to upgrade and remodel other school facilities and equipment.
