GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – When ArtPrize concludes this weekend, the Gerald Ford Presidential Museum in Grand Rapids will close for eight months while a 15 million-dollar expansion and remodeling project takes place. Among the improvements is a learning center where students, starting next fall, will study civics in a classroom setting through the lives of the President and Mrs. Ford. Existing exhibits will also be modernized with new technology, and the lobby and gift shop will get a face lift. The Gerald R. Ford Presidential Foundation spent about three years raising the funds for the entire project.
