KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Farmers Market has set its schedule for the 2020 year.
The opening day has been set for Saturday, May 2. Opening times will run from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will continue to be open for business until the month of November.
During the months of June through October, the market will also be open Tuesdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Additionally, there will also be the Night Market available on certain days. According to the market website, it will be open every third Thursday from June to September during the hours of 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Patrons are reminded that pets are not permitted on the market grounds.
According to the official opening event page on Facebook, any customer using EBT for payment will have the opportunity double their money through a program called Double Up Food Bucks, which matches up to $20 for Michigan grown fruits and vegetables.
Customers can visit the office in the middle of the market for more information.
Later this year, renovations to the market grounds are expected to begin taking place by the City of Kalamazoo, which is funded in part by a grant from the Consumers Energy Foundation.
Once renovations begin, the market will relocate to a different area for the rest of the season before returning in 2021.
