KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Public Safety officers say a retail fraud investigation led to the arrest of a Kalamazoo resident carrying a concealed weapon.
Authorities responded to the retail fraud report at a business in the 3100 block of Lovers Lane near Pomeroy Street in the Milwood neighborhood on Saturday and received information of the suspected getaway vehicle.
Officers located the car in the 1500 block of South Westnedge Avenue near Pioneer Street, contacted the occupants, and recovered the stolen merchandise and a concealed firearm.
The 24-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. The retail fraud charges are being requested from the prosecutor against the passenger in the vehicle, a 24-year-old from Chicago.
The business name and the suspects were not identified.
