BARRY COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A woman was arrested after being connected to the cause of a suspicious fire in Barry County.
The Barry County Sheriff’s Office was called around 5:40 p.m. on Monday to assist the Hastings Fire Department with a suspicious structure fire in Carlton Township.
At the scene, witnesses told responding deputies that they believed a woman started the fire intentionally. After an investigation, police arrested a 35-year-old woman linked to the incident and lodged her in the Barry County Jail for arson.
Authorities say that no one was in the building at the time of the fire and there are no reported injuries.
The incident is still under investigation by police.
