CASSOPOLIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A one vehicle crash in Cass County Saturday morning killed one person and injured two others.
The Sheriff’s Department reports that a vehicle traveling east on Church Road in Volinia Township lost control and flipped into a tree.
A passenger, 21-year-old Michael Mortimore, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 21-year-old Austin Price, and another passenger, 22-year-old Nicholas Carey, were taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. All three victims are from Dowagiac.
Authorities report that alcohol and/or drugs may be a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
