DECATUR TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Lawton area man is in custody after he broke into a stranger’s home in Van Buren County and fell asleep in their bathroom.
Deputies were dispatched to the 39,000 block of County Road 669 north of 92nd Avenue in Decatur Township around 2:45 a.m. Monday after the homeowner said an unknown man came into the residence, walked into the bathroom, and went to sleep.
According to officials, the man crashed his car while he was intoxicated and found his way into the random home.
A relative was able to detain the suspect until authorities arrived. The 20-year-old was arrested for breaking and entering, operating while intoxicated, driving without insurance and for leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
