TEXAS TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Spring showers are causing more problems for Texas Township residents along Eagle and Crooked Lakes.
A pump is now set up and fully operational in Crooked Lake which will hopefully bring down the extremely high lake levels that have ruined hundreds of homes in the area.
But, residents along Eagle Lake will have to hold on a little longer. Texas Township officials say their pumps won’t be ready for at least another week.
Eagle Lake Vice President Leonard Bosma says every time it rains, more homes flood and more families are forced to leave, and they have lost thousands of trees.
The Flood Mitigation Task force will meet Thursday morning to discuss the next steps.
A ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the Crooked Lake pump was set for 2 p.m. Thursday but it has reportedly been cancelled.
