TEXAS TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) –The flooding situation in Texas Township continues to get worse.
Twelve homes have now been flooded out. The families have been forced to abandon them due to high water and mold.
Just in the last few months, the number of damaged homes has increased from 400 to 600.
Eagle Lake Vice President Leonard Bosma says every time it rains, more homes flood and more families are forced to leave, and they have lost thousands of trees.
They have a $1.5-million short term plan and a DEQ permit but they won’t be able to turn on the pumps until late May and more rain is in the forecast through the coming week.
