KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Beacon Kalamazoo is replacing its behavioral health crisis screeners in the emergency department with a third-party telehealth screening service.
Hospital officials say it will allow them to have 24/7 coverage in Kalamazoo, Allegan, Plainwell and Dowagiac emergency departments.
How many employees are losing their jobs has not been disclosed.
Indiana-based Beacon Health System bought Ascension Southwest Michigan last year and renamed Ascension Borgess Hospital.
