BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Battle Creek man has been arraigned on one charge of being in possession of ammunition as a prohibited person after a gun went off in a child’s locker at Ann J. Kellogg Elementary School last week.
The third-grade student told police they found the 9 millimeter handgun in the basement of Wade Davis’ home and brought it to school.
Davis is the student’s father and Battle Creek police say they found ammunition throughout the home and he told investigators he knew about the ammunition.
He has at least one prior felony that makes owning any weapon or ammunition illegal.
