HASTINGS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – People who live in the second and third floor apartments at Tyden Lofts in Hastings are back in their homes after being evacuated since Thursday, when a resident had the poison ricin.
The Barry-Eaton District Health Department says the “area of concern” is on the first floor where that resident was and spokeswoman Emily Smale says it’s not known yet when first floor residents will be able to return.
Smale says every apartment has its own HVAC unit and there are no concerns the upper floors are contaminated.
Corewell Health and health department officials are not commenting on the person’s condition who was hospitalized after being exposed to ricin last week.
