KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Two teenagers are in custody after a shooting that injured two woman Monday evening.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of Interfaith Boulevard. Officers located two adult women, ages 19 and 20, with non-fatal gunshot injuries.
Officers provided medical aid at the scene before both victims were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
KDPS officers canvassed the area for witnesses and evidence while detectives and crime labpersonnel responded to assist with the investigation. With the help of FUSUS technology, officers quickly identified two suspects.
A 14-year-old male and an 18-year-old female were taken into custody a short time later on charges related to the shooting. The juvenile was lodged at the juvenile detention center and the adult was booked into the Kalamazoo
County Jail.
Officers also executed a search warrant in the 1000 block of Bridge Street to collect additional evidence.
