KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement and Crime Reduction teams have seized nearly a pound of fentanyl when they executed two search warrants in the city of Kalamazoo on June 16th.
The search warrants were executed in the 800 block of Grant Street and the 900 block of Princeton Avenue as part of the same drug sales investigation.
Two people were arrested, 49-year-old Matthew Lipsey Jr. and 25-year-old Letahzia Perry. A third suspect, a 25-year-old man, was not arrested but charges against him are possible pending a review by the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office.
Officers seized three-quarters of a pound of fentanyl, a quarter pound of crack cocaine, an ounce of cocaine, about five pounds of marijuana, evidence of drug manufacturing and distribution, and a large amount of cash believed to be drug sale proceeds.
Both Lipsey and Perry received a $100,000 cash or surety bond when they were arraigned.
