EAST LANSING, MI — Restaurants across mid-Michigan come and go, but now a family-owned restaurant on East Grand River Avenue in East Lansing – that’s been in business for 58 years – is closing.
According to WLNS TV6 in Lansing, the Coral Gables will close its doors June 30. The owners announced the closure this week in a statement posted to the restaurant’s social media pagers, saying the decision was difficult but that “the time has come.”
The post, which was signed by Stuart Vanis and co-owners Anastasia and Grigoris Kimbouris and George Tesseris, says: “It is with great appreciation for our customers, employees and the broader community that we announce the difficult decision to close The Coral Gables in East Lansing after 58 years and two generations of ownership.”
