KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department says mosquito and tick activity in the area is increasing.
The recent warm and damp conditions are ideal for the two to thrive.
Environmental health division manager Lucas Pols says people need to reduce their risk of being bitten to prevent Lyme disease and other tick-related illnesses.
Kalamazoo County has seen Lyme disease cases more than triple in the last five years.
