KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The only issue on all Kalamazoo County ballots Tuesday is a routine renewal of the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency funding for special education programs county wide.
Many are provided in the nine local districts, but some of the more specialized programs are provided by KRESA.
Superintendent Dedrick Martin says they are required by law to provide the education services, but not reimbursed for them.
Dr. Martin says a yes vote won’t increase tax bills.
Failure to renew would create a financial problem for every district.
The special education millage costs the average homeowner about $9 a month.
