KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -Strong winds knocked a tree over onto a home in the area of Hoffman Court and Locust Street in Kalamazoo, trapping a man under the debris.
Kalamazoo Public Safety Chief David Boysen says first responders pulled him from under the tree and his front porch and took him to the hospital for treatment.
He was sitting on the porch when the tree collapsed.
Fire marshal Scott Brooks says crews had challenges with downed power lines and a protective family dog, but were able to rescue the man.
