DETROIT, MI — GM CEO Mary Barra led the company through tough year of regulatory obstacles in 2025, from automotive tariffs and the reversal of federal incentives for electric vehicles, and now the General Motors’ board has approved her highest-ever salary.
According to a report in the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit automaker said April 20 that Barra’s 2025 compensation was $29,895,868 million. That was up 1.3% or $399,231, from $29,496,637 in 2024.
The Detroit automaker reported year-end earnings for the period ending Dec. 31, 2025, back in January. The automaker recorded a net loss of $3.31 billion in the final quarter of 2025.
