KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 23-year-old man was shot several times in an incident outside a business in Kalamazoo Sunday afternoon.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says the shooting occurred in the 700 block of North Westnedge Avenue. Around 2:45 p.m. officers responded to a report of a shooting outside of a business in the area. At nearly the same time, an adult male victim arrived at a public safety station seeking medical help after sustaining gunshot wounds.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported for medical treatment. He is currently listed in stable condition.
Assisting agencies, including K9 units, responded to the scene to conduct a track and search for evidence. Investigators also reviewed surveillance footage from nearby businesses and are following up on several strong leads.
The investigation remains ongoing.
