EAST LANSING, MI — A new form of recreation is opening near the MSU campus. Reports indicate a Grand Rapids-based rock climbing gym specializing in bouldering will open in the former Foods for Living storefront off East Grand River Avenue in Meridian Township.
According to a report on its website, Terra Firma Bouldering Co. has leased the 15,000-square-foot space at 2655 E. Grand River Ave.
“Our second location will be bouldering only, just like the Grand Rapids location. Bouldering is rock climbing in its simplest form. No ropes, no harness, all you need is yourself, your comrades, chalk, shoes, and a cushy pad to catch your falls,” according to company’s website.
There is no official date to open, but the company is hoping for mid-to-late April.
