LANSING, MI — This is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Michigan. There will be a statewide voluntary tornado drill on Wednesday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. Many municipalities will be participating; at their option, may trigger local tornado sirens.
At 1:00 p.m., MSP will also issue an EAS Required Monthly Test to air statewide. This test will also include language about Severe Weather Awareness Week. The test will be on radio and TV. You will also likely receive it on your cellphone unless you have opted out of receiving alerts.
