KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Southwest Michigan First says CEO Jonas Peterson is stepping down on March 26th for a different job.
President Carla Sones will be their interim CEO while they do a search for the successor.
Peterson led what Southwest Michigan First calls “a period of historic growth and measurable impact,” and say during his tenure, they doubled their operating budget and delivered record performance across every focus area.
The Southwest Michigan First Chamber became one of the fastest-growing chambers in Michigan, and their Consultant Connect expanded to provide innovative consulting services to clients in more than 40 states and multiple countries.
Peterson introduced The Path to Regional Prosperity in 2023, which is a three-year strategic action plan focused on uniting seven counties around shared economic priorities. He unveiled The Road to Regional Prosperity this month, showing a data-driven path to accelerate investment and expand economic opportunity.
