LANSING, MI — A powerful new chapter in mid-Michigan storytelling opens this week with the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Changemakers Center at Lansing Community College.
The interactive, immersive exhibit will “transform how the Greater Lansing community’s contributions, made through courage, innovation, dedication, and service, are shared,” according to a press release from the school.
The “state-of-the-art space preserves and honors the legacies of leaders who broke barriers, created opportunities, and transformed the mid-Michigan region,” according to a press release. It’s where “Lansing’s African American stories come alive,” the school says.
Notable inductees in the inaugural class include: Earvin “Magic” Johnson, “Metro” Melik Brown (Stacks 92.1), Michigan Senator Sarah Anthony, Paula Cunningham, Joel Ferguson, Gregory Eaton and Richard Letts.
