PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 10-year-old child in Pennfield Township is recovering in a local hospital after Calhoun County Sheriff’s deputies saved her life with immediate CPR during a medical emergency early Saturday morning.
Around 6:00 a.m., deputies from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a medical assist call at a residence on Taylor Trace.
Upon arrival, they found the child unresponsive and without a pulse outside the home. The deputies quickly began life-saving measures, performing CPR while updating dispatch on the child’s condition. The child soon regained a pulse and started breathing independently.
LifeCare Ambulance and Pennfield Fire Department personnel arrived shortly after, providing advanced care before transporting the child to the hospital.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office praised the deputies and emergency responders for their swift actions and effective teamwork, which proved critical in turning around the life-threatening situation.
The child’s current condition was described as stable and improving during recovery.
