BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 54-year-old woman from Morrice, Michigan was killed in a two-vehicle crash on M-60 near 9 Mile Road in Calhoun County’s Burlington Township Friday morning.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says the crash around 7:00 a.m. occurred under icy and snow-drifted roadway conditions. The identity of the woman killed is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.
A second individual involved in the crash was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
M-60 was closed for several hours while deputies and crash investigators processed the scene. The roadway has since been reopened.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Michigan State Police, the Burlington Fire Department, the Union City Fire Department, and the Marshall Area Fire Fighters Association.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
