KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The man charged with killing 71-year-old Virginia Cramer is also accused of taking several hundred dollars from her bank account after he killed her.
Cramer’s boyfriend, Jose Mata, was arrested last Tuesday at an apartment in Wyoming, several hours after she was found dead at their apartment at Crosstown Parkway Senior Community in Kalamazoo.
Neighbors told detectives they heard loud noises from their apartment between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Monday, and records from her bank account show several ATM withdrawals Monday and Tuesday.
Surveillance photos show he was driving a van and making the withdrawals.
