LANSING, MI — An old town Lansing favorite is closing up shop. The Lansing State Journal reports the Old Town General Store will close at the end of March.
Owner Rhea Van Atta is retiring and closing the business, which specialized in selling Michigan-made products, according to the report. The shop at 408 E. Cesar Chavez Ave has operated for the past 13 years.
According to a Facebook post by Van Atta: “The store and I will retire together, the same way we started. So many emotions: sadness, guilt, anxiousness, excitement, joy, relief; but no regrets.”
Van Atta said in the post that the brick-and-mortar building that currently houses her business will evolve into what will be known as the Old Town Cultural Center.
