KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Many of the seniors at Western Michigan University have something extra to celebrate this weekend. Saturday is Fall Commencement.
New president Russ Kavalhuna is promising this time graduation ceremonies will be a little different, but he was only offering teases to trustees last week.
Kavalhuna says the focus will still be handling out diplomas to over 1,100 graduates from 37 nations, and for the first time he will be there to shake hands.
Ceremonies for the colleges of Business, Fine Arts Health and Human Services, and Education will take place at 9 a.m. Ceremonies for students from the Arts and Sciences, Merze Tate, Engineering, and Aviation schools will be held at noon in Miller Auditorium.
For those who don’t have tickets for the two hour events, both will be livestreamed at these links: https://www.youtube.com/live/
