KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A passenger is a vehicle traveling through a Kalamazoo neighborhood was struck in the head by gunfire Sunday afternoon.
At 5:41 p.m. officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to the 500 block of Florence Street for a report of a shooting. Officers found that a vehicle traveling through the area had been struck by gunfire, and a 32-year-old female passenger inside the vehicle sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
The driver immediately transported her to a local hospital. KDPS says remarkably her injuries were minor, and she was treated and released later that
evening.
Police say the investigation is still in its early stages and no suspect information is available at this time.
