BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) The Battle Creek Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Wednesday night, in the 100 block of South Burdge Street.
Officers responded to the scene shortly after 11 p.m., where they found a 23-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite life-saving efforts from LifeCare EMS personnel, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Battle Creek Police Detectives were immediately activated. Following interviews and a preliminary review of evidence, investigators believe an unknown suspect fired multiple rounds at the victim before fleeing the area.
