BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The Battle Creek Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 576 W. Van Buren St. shortly after 6 a.m. Friday morning. Crews arrived within three minutes to find smoke showing from a vacant church, and were able to quickly extinguished the blaze, which was isolated to the center of the first floor. The fire is considered suspicious in nature and is under investigation by the department’s fire inspector. No injuries were reported damage was estimated at $30,000.
