BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 24-year-old woman is in custody following a shooting incident in Battle Creek yesterday.
Battle Creek Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Goguac Street West just before 3:30 p.m.
When they arrived, officers say they found out that two 24-year-old women had driven to a home, where the shooting incident occurred, to visit a 17-year-old boy. When the two women arrived, they noticed a third 24-year-old woman who was already inside the home.
The three women began to fight with each other, with the fight spilling outside of the home. Once outside, the woman who was already at the home was given a handgun, and the other two women ran back to their car and proceeded to leave.
As the car carrying the two women pulled away from the home, the woman who was already at the home began to fire rounds at the vehicle, striking it at least three times. There were no injuries reported.
The woman who shot at the vehicle was arrested on gun-related charges.
