LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A man from Van Buren County has claimed his $5.46 million win from the Michigan Lottery for the Lotto 47 drawing from April 23.
The 43-year-old bought the ticket at the Speedway gas station at 3908 South Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo and told his family he was going to win the jackpot.
When he checked the numbers the next day, he rechecked them several times because “it was so surreal” and says after he was sure he won, he ran down the street.
The winner chose to stay anonymous when he pickedup his winnings and chose annual payments over 30 years of around $182,000. He says he will use the money to take care of his family.
The Speedway gas station will receive a $5,000 bonus commission from the Michigan Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
