KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A speeding vehicle veered off the road and into a gas station lot on South Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo Wednesday afternoon, hitting two cars, a gas pump, and two motorcycles, leaving two people hospitalized, one of them with serious injuries.
The crash happened around 1:00 p.m. at the Speedway between Kilgore Road and Cork Street.
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says the car was headed north on Westnedge when it went off the roadway. One of the motorcyclists was hit and sustained serious injuries. There was a second person hurt, but police say those injuries were not as serious. Both were taken to the hospital.
Speedway workers quickly shut off the gas pumps after the accident, so there was no hazmat issue
