KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The 16-year-old boy who is suspected of shooting a 12-year-old girl in the face with a shotgun Wednesday night is cooperating with police in Kalamazoo.
Public Safety Captain Danielle Guilds says the shooting is believed to have been accidental.
The shotgun was unsecured and the gun’s owner might also face charges of violating the state’s safe storage laws.
Officers are seeking a charge of careless discharge of a gun causing injury against the 16-year-old.
