LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan and 13 other states are suing President Donald Trump over his creation of the Department of Government Efficiency without the approval of Congress.
Attorney General Dana Nessel says the lawsuit challenges Trump giving executive power to Elon Musk to head up DOGE without Musk being subject to the advice and consent of the U.S. Senate.
She called it an “extraordinary assault on our federal government by the unelected, un appointed billionaire Elon Musk.”
Nessel says the overall goal of the lawsuit is to get Musk’s actions declared unconstitutional and get an order to ban him from issuing orders to anyone outside of DOGE.
