KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Police say the victim of a shooting at the Kalamazoo Transportation Center Thursday morning remains in stable condition, and that the victim and the suspected shooter knew each other.
The 60-year-old male victim inside the main entrance of the facility when the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety arrived around 10:20 a.m.. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen but was alert and conscious. He was treated at the scene before being transported to a local area hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
KDPS says their preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and suspect knew each other prior to Thursday’s shooting. Theei investigation then led to a search warrant being executed at a residence nearby in the City of Kalamazoo. Materials obtained during the search are being processed by detectives for additional leads.
No arrests have been made at this time.
