ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Arc of Allegan County is closing its all-natural dog treat business and storefront known as Beyond Bones on February 28.
The business opened in July 2021 and is The Arc’s initiative to provide meaningful and needed employment to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the county.
37 people with disabilities have been provided real-world experience by baking and packaging treats along with operating the store. There are currently 22 employees that have disabilities along with two kitchen managers and a business manager.
The Beyond Bones storefront located at 219 Hubbard Street in Allegan will be open on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. through January 31. Online treat sales will also continue through January 31.
