BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Battle Creek police have found two children who had been reported missing by their mother just after 2:30 a.m. Friday.
The 32-year-old Battle Creek woman said her seven-year-old and one-year-old children were missing from their home in the 300 block of Hamblin Avenue.
She said she had left the home around 5 p.m. on Thursday and came back around midnight to find the kids were gone, but police determined she got home after 2 a.m.
The children were found about a half-mile away at the home of a family friend. They were returned to the care of other family members.
The mother was arrested for child neglect and is in the Calhoun County Jail.
