PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of Portage is already gearing up for the holidays, at least one holiday in particular.
Homeowners will soon be dragging those inflatable ghosts and goblins, and Styrofoam tombstones out of storage and putting them on display.
In Portage there are bragging rights, honors and prizes at stake.
City Manager Patrick McGinnis talked about the Halloween decorating contest.
There are rules. You must live in the home you are decorating, be 18 or older, and be able to display your entry online.
Details will soon be released in the Portager.
There will be official certificates and prizes for the top three finishers. They will be honored at the November 5th city council meeting.
It’s about time something was done to celebrate Halloween and Holiday Decorations. Usually ignored by the city.
