KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Today, September 23rd, is Celebrate Bisexuality Day in Kalamazoo.
The Kalamazoo City Commission made that declaration at their last meeting.
Commissioner Don Cooney read the proclamation, with the goal of boosting understanding.
Bisexuals have historically faced discrimination and misunderstanding not only from straights, but from the LGBT community as well.
A local representative says information is available locally.
Celebrate Bisexuality Day was first marked at a conference in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1999, and has since spread worldwide.
