PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of Portage has selected a winner in its “First Time Voter” Sticker Design Contest.
The Portage City Clerk’s office announced the first-ever contest in August and it was open to Portage residents from kindergarten through 12th grade.
The designs were required to be non-partisan, non-political, and could not advocate for a candidate or an issue.
The artwork also had to be original and not AI-generated and have the phrases “First Time Voter” and “#PortageVotes.”
The winner was 12th Street Elementary fifth grader Alexia Faison.
City Clerk Erica Eklov thanked everyone who entered the contest and said all of the designs were “wonderfully new perspectives on the electoral process.”
The sticker will be available in the upcoming General Election in November to anyone voting in Portage for the first time.
