KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Imagine Kalamazoo 2035 will start work to shape what the city will look like next Thursday with an open house at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts.
That will start an 18-month process to collaboratively plan for the next 10 years of progress.
City staff will hold meetings, conduct surveys, speak with focus groups, and attend events to connect with community members and listen to concerns, ideas, and visions for the future.
Kalamazoo City Manger Jim Ritsema says they will look for everyone’s perspective during the process and hope everyone takes advantage of the opportunity to speak up.
The process will be divided into five phases, Imagine It!, Plan It!, Design It!, Draft It!, and Adopt It!
The city’s last Master Plan was completed in 2017 and 99% of the projects identified in it have been completed or are in progress.
